It’s Tuesday, it’s raining, and that’s not too weird since it is now April. And you know how the saying goes: April showers bring May flowers. I never knew if that was some sort of pun on Mayflower—like the Pilgrim boat—but now I’m thinking it is. As you can tell, my brain works in odd ways. Anywho, hope you have an amazing Tuesday. Here’s today’s song.
Jour 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love
By now, you should know that I absolutely love boy bands, and I’m not afraid to admit it. Take That are LEGENDS in the UK and Europe, and it’s such a shame that they never broke out in the States. “Rule the World” is one of the most beautifully written songs ever, I think. Gary Barlow is such a brilliant lyricist and this song is so swoon worthy. It peaked at #2 on the UK charts and became Take That’s best-selling single. Written for the movie Stardust based no the Neil Gaiman’s novel, this song was considered for Best Original Song at the 2008 Oscars, but unfortunately wasn’t nominated (they could have switched one of the songs from Enchanted for “Rule the World.” Enchanted had 3 SONGS NOMINATED AND STILL DIDN’T WIN). So yeah, if you haven’t heard this song, check it out. It’s gorgeous and seriously, I want to dance to this at my wedding.
