Another Monday, another start of the week. On the bright side, that means a fresh new week of opportunities. It’s also the start of Eurovision week!! Tomorrow is the first semis. Thing is, I don’t watch the semis just so the final isn’t runed for me. What I usually do is wait for it to be over and just watch the performances of those who didn’t make the cut. I’ve already listened to the songs, but I don’t want to ruin the actual performances.
Anyways, hope you have a great Monday. Here’s today’s song of the day!
For those of you who haven’t watched Eurovision, Alexander Rybak’s “Fairytale” is like, THE ultimiate winner’s song. Back in 2009, this was Norway’s entry, and boy did they score a jackpot with this one! And when I say “jackpot,” I mean it’s the highest scoring winner from the old scoring system. Rybak won the competition with record breaking 387/492 points. It’s really not hard to see why.
Rybak is a classical violinist, and he uses his skills to his advantage. Along with his vocals and a story inspired by Scandinavian folklore, the song was a massive hit. He’s basically a Eurovision legend. It’s such a bop and it’s hands down one of my favorite winner’s songs. You should definitely give this song and the rest of his music a listen. He can also sing in Russian okay. Boy is talented as is!
