Hello, everbody! Ahhhh, Mondays. Just the day of the week we all look forward to reaching. Ha! Just kidding. Hope everyone had a fun weekend and didn’t burn up in this heat. It’s getting super humid, folks!
Here’s today’s song of the day.
Okay, I’ve been a fan of Hilary Duff since her Lizzie McGuire days. She continues to be such a great role model and I just feel so fortunate that I’ve had someone like her to look up to growing up; she is only a few years older than me, which is crazy to consider.
“All About You” was the second song she released in 7 years—Dignity was released in ’07 while Breathe In. Breathe Out was released in ’15—and I think it’s such a shame that this song didn’t reach peak potential. It terrible timing because she was also starting to promote her then new show Younger, and I that definitely got in the way of the album.
This song is such a cute, fun one. It’s pop with a country twang thanks to the banjo, handclaps, and “heavy hand” drums,” and it’s just an infectious tune! I think it’s cool that she gave a nod to her Texas roots by making this such a folky-type of pop song. The music video even has line dancing in it!
“All About You” is criminally underrated and you should definitely give it a listen if you haven’t. It’s a bonus track on the album, by the way.
